Miss me?

Oh hey! It’s been a week since my last post. Myyyy baddd! Since I cannot possibly remember everything I’ve done the past seven days, we’ll just start from yesterday. Cool? Awesome.

So yesterday started out tired. I was workin at the newspaper till the wee hours of the morning on Monday/Tuesday and hit my pillow waaaaay past my bedtime. The only thing that got me out of bed was a vision of yogurt and granola, coffee and the Law&Order:SVU marathon on USA. (I don’t have class on Tuesdays fyi). After like one episode though I started to get restless so I did some dishes and cleaned up a little around the place. At 2-ish I met up with some of my starbucks friends and we had a delish gossip-filled lunch 🙂 Afterwards I grabbed my books and headed to the office to get  some work done. Theeeen I met up with my group from my Writing for New Media class at this little bar/resturaunt near campus. We have a project where we have to make a website for a company of our choice. We choses Espana but wanted to talk to the owners first to make sure it was kosher with them. Little did we know they would be hosting singles night (holla!) and barely had time to chat. BUT they are cool with us making that website, so yay! After that, I stopped by the apartment to say hi to the roomies cause I hadn’t seen them all day, grabbed some snacks and then headed to starbacks to get my studyface on. Accounting test be damned! Got home around midnight, chatted with Jess (roomie/bff), showered, studied/watched Family Guy and then passed the eff out.

Today I rolled out of bed, sleep deprived again, got myself all ready, grabbed a peach and headed to the office again. I had to print some stuff out and I crammed a tiny little study session in while I was there too. I then walked to campus, met up with some of the paper kids and we set up a table to pass out our newspaper/give out pens/eat pass-out candy/have a good time. After we were all set up, I trotted off to my first class to learn more about how to make a website. Then I ran to my second to dominate my accounting test. Whether or not I actually did dominate, I will not know until Friday. *crosses fingers*

After the test I went back to the table to continue passing out papers and then had lunch with some of our interns and our business manager (ooh don’t I sound all grown up?!) and then went to the comp lab to work on a paper I have due tomorrow. I still have like four pages to go and I’m sitting here bloggin my life way. Oy vey.

So, that’s that. I actually really do need to finish this paper so I can watch Glee tonight 🙂 I’ll probably have to miss SYTYCD, which is breaking my heart, but since it’s still just the auditions I can cope (hopefully!)

I’ll be back tomorrow!

Cold weather, new brakes, need coffee

September 23, 2009 Leave a comment

It has been cold and rainy all day and I’ve loved every single second of it. Even when I was driving to the dealership to get my brakes fixed, worrying the whole way that they were gonna give out and I was going to go crashing into a tree. (No worries, my brake are totally fixed now, though I am suddenly poorer than I was this morning).

I adore cold weather. It’s probably because I grew up in Ohio and was use to snow days, white Christmases and snow angels. We moved to Texas when I was 14 and I have seen snow once in the whole eight years I’ve been here. This makes me sad. A winter sans snow is no winter at all. I love everything having to do with cold weather. The clothes are fabulous (who doesn’t look good with a scarf around their neck?) and curling up on the couch with a blanket and a cup of coffee is my idea of the perfect day. When I graduate, I have every hope that I will be able to move back east to a big city where I will experience all four regular seasons instead of Texas seasons (hot, hotter, hottest, rainy).

Anywho, back to today. It was cold and I loved it. Now I’m sitting in my apartment doing homework (obviously, haha) and smelling the delicous soup my roomie is making. I’m also trying to figure out how I can get a cup of coffee even though I have no coffee maker and going to Starbucks would mean leaving my apartment. I realize I should own a coffee maker, and I plan on it soon, but up until recently I worked at Starbucks (3 years, what what!) and had no need for one. I was always at work so I just caffeined up there.

I guess I should go back to studying so I can finish before the two best shows in the WORLD come one. I should let you know now that I have a sick obsession with So You Think You Can Dance and Glee. Obviously I have a thing for song and dance. LOVE IT! So yeaaa, I’m gonna go back to that so I can fully enjoy my TV filled night.

Newbie

I’m not quite sure what I want this blog to be about just yet.

I can tell you that the reason I named it ‘My Glamour’ is because I have an obsession with women’s magazines (especially Glamour, duh) and my dream job is to work for one (preferably Glamour, duh). The ‘My’ part is there because I’m quite aware that my idea of glamour is probably very different than your idea of glamour.

I’m in my last year of college at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Hopefully by this time next year I will be living in a big city, researching for an article a big-shot editor has assigned to me. When I originally decided to start this little blog I wanted it to just chronicle my last year in college. I’m at a time in my life when I really reallllllly need to start thinking about my future.

SO, from now on I will continuously post about school, friends, the search for my dream job and life in general. But I can sometimes be kinda ADD so don’t be surprised if I sneak in a post about something super random. Hopefully some people will stumble upon this newbie blog and take the journey with me, but if not I will at least have this to look back on.
